Water Treatment Plant for Iconic Soft Drinks Manufacturer, Queensland
A leading Australian soft drinks producer building a $150 million facility in Queensland required a plant to remove chlorine for product safety and to reuse water streams to reduce potable water demand.

Hydroflux designed a 2.4 MLD plant comprising:
- Three SS316 hygienic activated carbon vessels with steam regeneration for chlorine removal and sterility
- HyPURE® ultrafiltration system to recover 300 m³/day of backwash and bottle rinse water for reuse
Working with the client’s engineers, Hydroflux designed a robust system to handle variable feedwater. Features included conservative flux design, spare membrane capacity, PLC/HMI control, automatic heated cleaning cycles, and HyCONNECT™ remote monitoring.

The Results
- Effective removal of free and combined chlorine for product quality
- Routine steam regeneration maintaining carbon performance and hygiene
- >300 m³/day water recovery, reducing potable demand
- Ultrafiltration exceeding recovery performance targets
Sustainability in Action
By combining hygienic carbon treatment with advanced water reuse, Hydroflux delivered a solution that ensures both product safety and reduced environmental impact.
