Giant 16.8M BioCap® Digester Cover Installed at West Hornsby WRP
Hydroflux Epco designed, fabricated and assisted with the installation of a larger 16.8M BioCap Digester Cover for the West Hornsby WRP located in Sydney. The equipment was fabricated and installed over 2023/2024.
BioCap® is custom fabricated for new digester builds or it can be easily adapted for retrofit to existing digesters. In many instances the fabrication is a combination of factory and onsite works that is managed by Hydroflux, anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
The cover was of a fixed design and was installed on the existing anaerobic digesters. The design included:
- Mild Steel Painted construction
- Domed construction to improve structural integrity and eliminate internal truss-based construction.
- Inspection hatches for top entry monitoring
- Instrument flanges
- Pressure and Vacuum Relief Valve Flanges
- Manholes inclusive of sight ports with wipers for access and visual monitoring of digester internals
- Perimeter handrail with self-closing gate
