Trade Wastewater Treatment Plant for Pactum Australia

Pactum Australia, a business unit of the Freedom Foods Group specialising in premium long-life dairy and food products, required an upgrade to its wastewater treatment system. With increasing production volumes, the company needed a reliable and efficient primary treatment process that could ensure compliance while providing flexibility for future expansion to secondary treatment.

Hydroflux Industrial commissioned a new trade wastewater treatment plant centred on a HyDAF HD-75 Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system. The robust process included:

  • HUBER ROTAMAT® RoK4 Pumping Station Screen installed within the wastewater sump to protect pumps and reduce solids handling costs
  • 500 kL stainless steel balance tank with full surface aeration and mixing
  • Chemically enhanced HyDAF HD DAF unit for high-efficiency solids and fat removal
  • Provision for future expansion, including biological treatment and sludge management

Hydroflux utilised its exclusive access to HUBER Technology to deliver an innovative, cost-effective solution. The RoK4 Pump Station Screen eliminated the need for an elevated rotary screen platform by screening at sump level and conveying screenings to ground level. This design reduced capital costs, protected sump pumps from blockages, minimised pit cleaning frequency, and delivered dewatered screenings of up to 40%.

The Results

The project has provided Pactum with:

  • Significant cost savings by removing the need for elevated screening platforms
  • Reduced maintenance requirements and improved sump pump reliability
  • High-efficiency solids and fat removal with low energy consumption via the HyDAF HD system
  • Flexibility for future biological treatment and sludge handling capacity

Proven Partnership

This is the second HyDAF installation for Pactum Australia, reinforcing Hydroflux Industrial’s strong relationship with the company. “I am pleased that Hydroflux has been able to support Pactum again with their wastewater treatment needs,” said Mathew Foster, Director of Hydroflux Industrial. “I am extremely happy with this latest installation and look forward to working with Pactum as their new facility reaches full production.”
