Hydroflux Industrial engaged to construct wastewater treatment plant for Sydney’s newest high-tech meat processing plant

March 10, 2014

Hydroflux Industrial has been awarded with the contract to design and construct the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at a new high tech meat processing and packaging plant within the greater Sydney region. The turnkey wastewater treatment plant highlights Hydroflux Industrial’s expertise incorporating advanced screening equipment, the latest generation of Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF), high-rate biological treatment and low-energy sludge dewatering.

Commercial & Industrial Property (CIP) Pty Ltd, the primary construction contractor, have an extensive repertoire of major projects including facilities for TOLL, GE, Volkswagen and Fosters. CIP have selected Hydroflux Industrial for their experience in the wastewater treatment field and the peace of mind that comes with the sustainable process solution.

Hydroflux Industrial and CIP have collaborated closely in the preliminary stages of the construction project and have produced a unique design that fits within a constrained footprint that prevented the use of traditional biological treatment methods such as Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) and biological lagoons.

Hydroflux Industrial have selected its advanced Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology as the secondary treatment to complement our unique and highly efficient HyDAF Dissolved Air Flotation system.

The MBBR allows very high levels of bacteria to be present in the reactor through the use of very large surface area plastic carriers. The bacteria attaches itself to the carriers which allows for continual operation and a highly stable bacterial colony. This means a greater reduction in organic load within a compact framework, with far less operator involvement than traditional biological processes.

The Hydroflux MBBR process is ideal for those difficult applications where primary treatment is just not enough!

With the inclusion of Huber advanced screening equipment and Huber Inclined Screw Press (ISP) sludge dewatering, Hydroflux Industrial is providing a state-of-the-art WWTP for a state-of-the-art facility. More information on MBBR, the HyDAF and Huber technologies and all of our products and services can be found from here.
